My company Louisiana Lobstershack, a bar and restaurant in Haarlem (NL) has been successfully active on social media since 2015. Not all services are created equal when it comes to their ability to be outsourced virtually, but social media management, video editing, mailings and brand strategy (the services I'm buying from PrimePixel) are definitely better of being outsourced to countries with lower wages than those in western Europe. PrimePixel is based in South-Africa, which not only makes for little time difference (GMT), but also makes it very easy to communicate (native English).They're punctual, creative and fair. You will not find better value for money at home. Period.

Over the years I have switched between maintaining the accounts myself and outsourcing it to different social media management companies. I always thought they were rather expensive (The Netherlands has, like many other EU countries relative high wages after correction for quality). After reading "The Globotic Upheaval", a book by Professor of International Economics Richard Baldwin, I realized that I could have the cake and eat it too by hiring professionals from outside of Europe to do the same work virtually. Baldwin explicitly names A-Virtual and its sister company PrimePixel for delivering valuable services against competitive prices. Not all services are created equal when it comes to their ability to be outsourced virtually, but social media management, video editing, mailings and brand strategy (the services I'm buying from PrimePixel) are definitely better of being outsourced to countries with lower wages than those in western Europe. I also like their flexibility in working with different types of software I proposed (Slack, Monday.com). Their web development service could be a bit sharper, but for the core services I signed up for I would highly recommend any European business owner to sign up as well, you will not find better value for money at home.
